what a funny day. it's amazingly hot today, the cherry blossoms are creating vivid, anarchic flurries of flower storms outside. i'm sure cherry blossoms are the most beautiful piece of nature i've ever seen. really. last night some friends and i went to a sumo wrestling match to watch the number one sumo dude in all of japan. after, we went for a hanami (drinking sake under cherry blossoms), i got a little drunk from my several glasses, ate some amazing barbequed squid, and stood in the middle of a flower storm that was mixed with warm spring rain. seasons are the most dynamic part of living on earth. i could never live somewhere with a single season, it would be tantamount to a creativity and inspiration blight. april first is the japan-wide "change-around" day for most workers. so today is fun. all the new teachers are here and because the day is so amazing, no one is in a bad mood. even the scowly, surly teacher is smiling. we all look quite smart today for staff pictures too, so it adds to the aestheticism. OHHHH!! kayoko-san is here for coffee... gotta go. ciao senors, senioritas...
