And so.

Gay marriage is racist. It's knocking me down lately, I feel like this whole debate around queers getting married is just a bunch of whities stepping up to the trough to eat and partake in what is the same dialectic that has allowed all the straight, white, Christian, heteronormative folks access to power and oppression.

And even this illogical argument that tends to victimise gay people holds very, very little water with me. I will give lesbians a bit more room to move (less so for white lesbians) than gay men who have been so detrimental to the advancement of oppressive ideas. They have headed up movements like the hawking their credit card on the same site as they espouse some kind of inclusive politik.

Where are urban, black people within this framework of same sex marriage?

What happens when all kinds of happy, gay, suburban white couples adopt all the kids that been stolen from black communities because of cuts to welfare and increased funding to the war on drugs has locked all the fathers up behind bars?

What happens?

I am livid that this is the only choice we have: to be folded in the majority because of the mass gay appeal to be recognised as "normal" (read: White, Christian, capitalist and binary)! Absolutely livid!
